At the studio, we love when we have same families keep coming back to us for portrait sessions. The Miduturu family have been coming to the studio for their family portraits since their children were babies. And they are growing into such beautiful young adults. This time, we took their pictures at a local park in Belmont, MA. We are very pleased with how they came out, and so are the clients!
Family group photos are so much more than just pictures; these sessions are filled with fun, laughter, and warmth!
Sometimes, a family portrait experience can be like "therapy” to remind you that the closeness is very much there. The photographer matching the energy is key in here.
I love capturing those little moments between siblings and I love encouraging you all to be close. When they are older, it just doesn’t seem to happen as often.
The Bharadwaj family had close families visiting their beautiful home in Acton, MA. Our lead photographer Dyuti Majumdar captured these moments with all of them.

After a series of pictures were taken of the newly minted couple in the lush green, the couple moved to the reception inside. All the guests were already indoors to the country club’s elegant ballroom. The elegant chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow. Long banquet tables are adorned with centerpieces of flowers and flickering candles. The dance floor was filled with romantic air with the couple’s first dance—a sweet and intimate moment. The party started soon after like there is no tomorrow. Lots of dancing, laughs and cries. An outdoor bouquet toss and some wonderful pictures in front of a fire pit finished the beautiful day!
Best wishes Richie and Brenda for a wonderful married life!
10 years at this point! Since we captured their engagement in Jamaica Plain. This was followed by their beautiful wedding at Willowdale estate. Some of the pictures we took are still displayed prominently on our website.
And 10 tears later, they have two adorable munchkins. It was such an adorable time taking pictures of all four them next to Jamaica Pond, Boston, where their original engagement session happened. And this was twice the amount of fun. Their two daughters are beautiful to photograph and we had a great time capturing the playful moments. We believe these pictures would be cherished forever in their family.

Ariel and Matt, avid winter sports enthusiasts, wanted to get married in the middle of winter. Their intimate wedding in the middle of a pandemic was set in the hallowed hall of the The Mansion at Turner Hill. In the middle of the cold January day, was as warm and joyful as any of the other seasons. Ariel looked elegant in her white laced gown and Matt was dapper in his tuxedo. After a lot of tears and laughs during the wedding, we captured some wild dance moved and some unique portraits of the couple in the regal mansion background.

Jayashree and Umesh, both originally from India had a beautiful wedding planned there with families and friends. Due to Covid and the related travel restrictions, they eventually chose to tie the knot in a small and intimate setting. The wedding took place in the well know Sri Lakshmi Temple in Ashland in MA. .Jayashree is ethnically Bengali and Umesh being Gujrati, they decided to mix the cultures. Jayashree looked gorgeous in a traditional red saree and jewelleries and Umesh looked smart in his sherwani suit. Together they added color to the snowy white backdrop outside the temple. The wedding was a fun filled happy event with all the Bengali and Gujrati rituals done together. For few hours the place turned into a mini India.
This is their story in pictures.
This is written for Anokhee and Ben. They are in love and want to get married, but with Covid going on indefinitely, they wanted to do something fun that could add some excitement to both their families. In a careful and socially distant way, they exchanged their vows in front of a small crowd of close family. The small arch was decorated with flowers and candles. A few folks shared their precious memories of the couple from their childhood days and cheered them on.
They will have a big and formal wedding in 2022 and we are hoping to be there!
Their sweet story is captured in the pictures below:
Colleen and Joseph planned to take the wedding vows at Portugal. But due to the pandemic situation everything had changed. The dream wedding turned into a micro wedding. But this was not the end of a beautiful story. With careful and detailed planning the wedding turned into a memorable event for all. The wedding took place at Colleen's grandpa's house at Gloucester on the water. The view from this house made it a photographer's paradise. It was the perfect intimate setting making it very classy.
The photos tell the story of this wonderful couple:
Peter and Marilyn, a couple in their seventies have seen a lot of life! They met each other a couple of years ago for a business purpose and grew very fond of each other quickly. They made a beautiful decision to get married to spend the rest of their lives together. Their love for sailboats made them choose Chandler Hovey park as the location overlooking the harbor. It was a small private wedding with no formal set up. They exchanged their wedding vows in front of the historic lighthouse, witnessed by a few close friends and the whole Atlantic ocean. A calmness and maturity in love was evident which came with their experience and wisdom. The rocky shore, crushing waves and summer breeze over the open space was a perfect natural set up for exchanging their vows. Peter and Marilyn selected simple but classy outfits for the occasion with shades of blue, grey and white which perfectly matched with the colors provided of surrounding nature. The celebration ended with a gorgeous sunset.

True love stories never have endings. It is more than true for Amanda and Chris.
Few months back we covered their engagement. With Covid hanging around, their plans for a beautiful wedding in Boston had to be called off but the alternate turned out to be amazing! This was an intimate wedding at the rustic Olde Mill in Vassalboro, Maine. It was pure joy to be a part of this outdoor wedding at that place with an old world charm. The arrangements for this, from the dresses to the decor and the beautiful wedding cake – everything maintained a color palette with white, grey and blue. Amanda looked elegant in her white lace gown perfectly complemented by the pearl studded shoes. Chris and his friends looked handsome in his fitted three piece suit! The pair looked gorgeous in the green backdrop and gave us ample chances to take perfect shots for all the precious moments.

That’s what it felt like to watch Marlow and Jeff on their dream day at Great Brook Farm in Ipswich, MA. If you are considering a fall wedding , this place is a wonderland. Though it was a micro wedding with limited guests it had not lessened the brightness of the ceremony. Marlow’s white lace gown was gorgeous on the backdrop of the lush colorful landscape. The lights, the colors and the warm and cordial Bride and Groom – everything was perfect for the camera to capture it all. Congratulations and best wishes to Marlow and Jeff.

Josh and Indrani met at work, stayed as friends for more than a year and then started dating. Their favourite things happened to be hiking, outdoors, cookouts and trying new food and drinks. This was beautifully used in setting the decor of the wedding with displays of their favourite dishes and cocktails.
Bride and groom did their first look in the front of the Inn with friends cheering from the side. The traditional bengali wedding ceremony happened outdoor under a gazebo. The bride and groom changed into evening clothing and the reception took place in the main ballroom where guests enjoyed dinner, heartfelt toasts, and eventually started dancing with the beats of the DJ.
Congratulations Indrani and Josh and thank you for being such a pleasure to work with on your beautiful day! Big shout out to the team at Stonehedge Inn (especially Tatiana who was worked tirelessly as the coordinator), Herneet for the amazing makeup and Rishi for riveting music.

This is the story of Suparna and Amit, longtime sweethearts who finally tied the knot in the picturesque Stevens Estate.
Within the many existing Hindu traditions of marriage, this unique wedding was also at a crossroad between the bengali (bride's side) and punjabi (groom's side) cultures. The pictures show how well they got mixed!
It was a beautiful day with predictions of a little rain. With the entire wedding set up outdoors, this was a cause for slight anxiety, being in New England. But except for a few drops which actually cooled an otherwise hot day of June, everything else went as planned.
Something about the beautiful heritage building in the location with its magnificent rooms and decor that made all the wedding images stunning. The open dance floor with strings of lights got even more grand when the moon came up through the cloud; made the night surreal.
Now happily married, Suparna and Amit are settled in sunny California!

This was from a walk in the park. Not just any park, the Arboretum. A nice clear spring morning, still a bit of wintry chill in the morning. Thanks to my two dear old friends Richard and Mei to push me to wake up early and walk with them and teach a few things about camera.
We saw a great deal in the morning, but not what you expect to see in an arboretum. End of a long hard winter, there were not too much blooming yet. But mornings are such great times to shoot, it gave us a bright moon, golden sunlight a little later, and of course the planes flying in and out of Logan looked great.
A poem by Billy Collins:
Enjoy the pictures and leave a comment if you wish.
Victor also had a great deal of panache! He looked impeccable in the long black coat, his bowler hat and an umbrella. He also had this air of old world charm around that I swear I can see in the pictures. He also had those smiling eyes, a great feature that helps photographers big time. And of course, as you can see in the pictures, he is photogenic all around. I did not need to give any instructions. He was like a natural model!
And as is just to make things interesting, snow started in the middle of the shoot although this was a late March afternoon!
Chance favors the prepared mind!
Cheers!

We all know the Standell song. We all know the SNOWZILLA that comes as a package living in Boston every year.
And there is the legend of New Englanders who won't even blink when the white stuff is over their heads.
They work, they shovel, they make merry.
So did Mansi and Shivang.
This wonderful (and may I say gorgeous) couple were not intimidated by snow, nor cold. They wanted to look lovely in front of the camera and have fun.
The pictures will speak for the rest! Suffice to say there was a lot of warmth on snow on that day.
They are getting married end of 2015! Best wishes from Art and Memories!
No matter how big a fan of snow people are, including all the ski and snowboard fanatics, "snow" is the most unpopular word around Boston right now. Its testing the resolve of the hardiest New Englanders right now, except probably kids, dog and photographers. The first two because they don't have to dig anything. The third because they are totally crazy.
Went for a two hour walk in Cambridge and Boston today. Today being the Presidents day, a work free Monday and it cannot be wasted by not taking a few pictures. It was sunny, cold and windy. Nothing heavy jackets and boots could not handle.
Enjoy the images folks!

Coming back from a theater, I decided to walk home. The fresh wind and touch of snow on the face was pleasing.
No camera, so iphone was very helpful. It was lovely watching couples walking hand in hand on Valentines Day evening, people walking with flowers to their loved ones and even a jogger in the middle of all this chaotic beauty.
Just read this in the internet a few minutes back. Very apt on how I felt.
"In the touch of a friend, in the breath of a child
In the sight of falling snow, and the memories it brings
Hear the song within the silence
See the beauty when there's nothing there."
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
End of the day, life wins over everything.
I love traveling to India (in good seasons, preferably), not only because my roots are there but also because it is a true photographic paradise. I plan the trip at least 6-9 months ahead and take no bookings around that time. When I am there, I totally give myself to leisure.
This post is on a visit to the district of Hooghly, West Bengal, about 35 km from the city of Calcutta. Hooghly, located centrally in the ganges delta, has many old towns with rich history and heritage that existed even before the British rule started. The river Ganges (known as Hooghly in the area) played a major role in the town's settlements and still controls the life of the people there.
The first town of visit was Chandannagar. This is a former French coloniy in India (French in India were no match against the British military might, so they were contained in a couple of small areas). By the side of Ganges, the French built a mile long riverside footpath called "the Strand", which is still a major attraction of the area. Although this was a lazy winter morning around the holiday season, you could tell the popularity of the place by counting the numbers of joggers, lovers, bikers, tea-sellers and commuters flocking around.
This is my cousin Hrittik, who was the tour guide. Also a fantastic photographer in his own right.
After a relaxed stroll on the Strand, we walked to a nearby church.
The next stop was the famous Imambara (a shia Muslim congregation hall) of Hooghly just a short drive away. This was famous for religious studies a century ago and also its high clock tower (stories on how much trouble the clockmakers had to go through to install this gigantic clock is inscribed in the building). We met an old caretaker called Rajab Ali who told us numerous stories in fluent bengali (accuracy unknown). The views of the river and part of town from the clock tower are still amazing. I remembered visiting this place when I was in high school and not much of that view had changed.
And then, a pit stop at a terracotta temple of Shiva, just to balance all the three major religions.
A few hours to drive back home. Happy and content.

]]>This was the wedding of Adam and Paula, in the heart of Berkshires in a charming barn setting.

And the party that followed...it was truly international. I have never seen folks from so many different places and yet so spirited to the same level.

PS: the little angel was Moira, their 9 month old daughter.
It is a snowy Saturday morning, about 6 inches of the white stuff on the ground. Temperatures registering in the 30s F and practically no winds making it a perfect time for a photographic adventure.
I picked the Boston common, particularly because it so epitomizes Boston and ties the experience for me each time I have visited, whether for a shoot or to simply listen to the trees. While there were some people, joggers, dog walkers, snow cleaning crew and some others rushing to work, coffee in hand, it was a relatively quiet Saturday in the park.
I walk leisurely around the common, as leisurely as one can given the equipment I was carrying and more the thoughts I carried in my head.
I mostly used a tripod since I had to hold an umbrella to cover the lens. Most shots were ISO 100 at f8, so tripod helped.
My particular favorite is the one which the teenagers making the snowman were warming each others hands.
Enjoy!
-Dyuti
PS: Wish - next time I would love to have a model or two to add interest and intrigue.
